Having moved back to Madison several years ago, I didn't realize how much I missed and appreciated living in a truly quaint historical "river town." Madison, as well as many other Southern Indiana towns, has established itself in a way that boasts several unique festivals and events throughout the year, and provides a place as an affordable launching pad for people with an entrepreneurial spirit. YOU NEED TO KNOW THE RED CROSS responds 24/7 to disasters big and small. On average, the Red Cross responds to over 25 home fres each month throughout Kentuckiana. While these may not get the big media attention that large scale disasters do, Red Cross disaster volunteers are there to work with a family who have lost everything they own, ensuring they have food, clothing, shelter, emotional support and other immediate needs. ATTENDING WRAPPED IN RED is a great way to party with a purpose. Proceeds of the gala beneft our disaster services and programs throughout Kentuckiana. Having lived there for the frst ten years of my life, I have so many fond memories of the city. I come from a huge New Albany family (my dad is one of 11), so we still spend a lot of time there. I'm proud to say I'm from there, and even prouder of what's happening now with the revitalization of the city, especially the downtown. YOU NEED TO KNOW THE RED CROSS is congressionally mandated to respond to every disaster, every time, yet receives no congressional appropriation to do so. Volunteers make the organization thrive and there are so many ways to get involved. Many people think of donating blood as the best way, but that's not for everyone. Become trained in First Aid and CPR, volunteer in Disaster Services, donate fnancially if you can, send your child through a Babysitting CPR course. This is OUR Red Cross. Let's all fgure out a way to get involved and make a difference. ATTENDING WRAPPED IN RED will give you a fun, enjoyable night out and make a huge impact to a local organization at the same time. You'll hear about the great impact the Red Cross is making in our community, and you will feel warm inside about being part of that positive impact.
